1. Dates
The 8th Seoul International Film Festival Net Section, including Competition Section and Special Section, will be held from September 6 to December 31, 2007.
2. Venue
2.1. The official venues are www.senef.net, which is the official website of Seoul International Film Festival, mobile, and DMB screening.
2.2. Some of the selected works can be shown on the supporting organizations’ and sponsors’ websites, media lounge, and the advanced technology media.
3. Eligibility
3.1. Only works completed after January 2006 may be submitted to the Festival. (Some exceptional cases are acceptable.)
3.2. Submissions should be creative works
3.3 There will be no restrictions regarding the genre, length or subject matter of the work and all types of works, including fiction, documentary, experimental, music video, animation, motion graphic, flash animation, game, web interactive art, etc., will be accepted.
4. Submission Deadline
Submission Deadline for Seoul International Film Festival is July 13, 2006. There is no application fee.
5. Materials for Submission
5.1 The following materials should be included in the submission sent to the Executive Committee :

¨è Preview material
- By Post : DVD / DV6mm / CD / VHS (Seoul Moving Image Forum - Program Dept. of Seoul International Film Festival, 5F Youahn Bldg. 146-23, Samsung-Dong, Kangnam-Gu, Seoul 135-090, South Korea)
- By FTP Server (under 300 MB) : FLASH / WMV / MOV / AVI / MPEG

- By E-MAIL : URL address to program3@senef.net
¨é Photo of the Work (.jpg) : more than 300 dpi
¨ê Photo of the Artist (.jpg) : more than 300 dpi
¨ë Complete script in English (.doc)
¨ì Any other publicity materials related to the submitted work (optional)
* Application form and photos can be submitted by E-MAIL to program3@senef.net
* Resolution should be more than 640 * 480.
* The applicant is responsible for any disadvantage caused by insufficient materials.
5.2. Submitted materials will be returned only at the request of the applicant; postage should be prepaid by the applicant.
6. Confirmation of the Application
As soon as the submission materials are received by the Executive Committee, the application will be confirmed by e-mail. The selected works will be notified on www.senef.nef.
7. Selection & Screening
7.1. A selection committee consisting of professionals will have the responsibility and authority to select the works to be screened at the Festival. If necessary, the Executive Committee may also engage the services of a local program coordinator or program advisors.
7.2. Submitters are expected to fully cooperate with the Executive Committee when the work is needed for various aspects of preparation for the Festival.
8. Master Source for the Screening
Master Source should be identical to the preview material and be subtitled in English. Master Source should arrive before July 13, 2007 in one of the following formats :
- DV6mm or DVD (VCD is NOT SUITABLE)
- File contained in DVD or CD (* resolution more than 640 * 480)
- File-Transferring by FTP Server (* under 300 MB, resolution more than 640 * 480)

* If your preview material is suitable for the final screening, it will be used as the master source.
9. Online Screening
- The encoding cost for online screening will be incurred by the Executive Committee.
- The Executive Committee will make every effort to protect the copyright of all works screened online, including employing the latest security solutions. If an illegal circulation of the work occurs during the Festival, due to an error of the Executive Committee, steps will be taken to compensate the copyright holder appropriately.
10. Program
Seoul International Film Festival Net Section is composed of Competition Section and Special Section:
1) Competition Section
- International Competition
This is the main section of the Seoul International Film Festival Net Section and consists of works produced on the basis of digital technology and (if what follows refers to the section)/that (if what follows refers to the works) presents new models of screen aesthetics with high production quality. The works will be divided into the following sub-sections : and
- National Competition
This section, focusing on the works of new directors and stressing the originality and experimental quality of the works over production quality, reflects and facilitates the current phenomenon of the democratization of media through digital technology. The works will consist of .
2) Special Section
- Perspective < i
This is a non-competitive section of specially selected or invited works to be screened online, which focuses on the current trend of internet movies as well as web-art.
- Mobile Choice
This is a non-competitive section of specially selected or invited works that present new esthetical models of mobile phone.
11. Award
Works in the competition section are eligible to win the following awards.
* International Competition
- Best Web-Work Award: Awarded to the most outstanding work in the section (Prize money : 2000 USD)
- Best Short Award : Awarded to the most outstanding work in the section (Prize money : 2000 USD)
* National Competition
- Best Short Award : Awarded to the most outstanding work in the section (Prize money : 1500 USD)
- SeNefian Ace: Awarded by the audience to the most acclaimed work in Net Section (Prize money: 500 USD)
- KT Special Award: Awarded to the work chosen by Executive Committee in Net Section
12. Jury
12.1. International Jury will be composed of more than 3 jurors for section and section respectively, and this jury will be responsible for International Competition and National Competition, equally.
12.2. Meeting of the jury is not open to the public and the jury will make a final announcement for the result jointly.
13. Publicity
The Executive Committee will be permitted to use clips from the works to produce a video up to one minute in length to publicize the Festival.
14. Shipping
- The Executive Committee will incur the cost of shipping the master source of the work officially selected, but only when the shipper officially designated by the Executive Committee is used.
- As soon as the master source of the work has been sent, the Executive Committee should be informed of the Airway Bill Number and the Format of the master source.
- The shipping package should be notified on the envelope as following: “Only for Cultural Use” and “No Commercial Value”. And the value of the package should be declared under 10 Euros or 10 USD.
15. Insurance & Compensation
- The officially designated transporter must be insured for liability covering the delivery of the master source to and from the Executive Committee.
- If the master source is lost or damaged over the duration of the Festival, the Executive Committee will compensate the producers or distributors of the work for the amount of the cost of producing a new copy. If the master source was subtitled, the cost of subtitling will also be included in the compensation.
15.1.
- All selected works, including those selected with the approval of the copyright holder, will be kept at the Seoul International Film Festival Archive after being subtitled in Korean solely for research and educational purposes. In case of refusal to adhere to this regulation, the videotape will be returned to the participant.
- In case the materials are lost due to careless management, the Executive Committee will be liable for any damage.
- After the festival, works featured at the festival can be included in Seoul International Film Festival Touring programs, Seoul International Film Festival DVD releases and educational programs at the Seoul International Film Festival Archive with permission of the artists or distributors of the works.
- Seoul International Film Festival welcomes any donation of participating works and additional related visual materials. These donated materials will be permanently kept at the Seoul International Film Festival Archive and used for non-profit education and research purposes.
16. Agreement
By submitting the signed application form the director, local distributor, agent, producer or others such as copyright holder or agent of the submitted work agrees to the above stated regulations.
17. Other
The Executive Committee has the right to make decisions regarding all other matters not specifically stated in the above regulations, including cases that are exceptions to the regulations, and perform its sincere duty to protect the art works and the artists’ right.
